Nothing special just a 1972 with wild pink and rainbow toning, sorry about crappy pics just cant figure out how to capture toning... Found today in change....
It was all downhill from the earlier years. Even the best strikes were mushy. You won't find a 40s or 50s Lincoln with fine details like those of the teens. Even the 30s lacked detail. Lance.
I'm inclined to agree with you. I don't have many high grade specimens on me, but the few I do have are weakly struck save one 1925 I sold a while back.
Nice coin, under appreciated for sure. I look for memorials with fully struck steps, keep an eye out for 'em RiverGuy. In many years they are very difficult to find and some years are impossible due to wear on the master hub.
Here's a funny one. When PCGS announced its Secure Plus program, and plus grading a couple of years ago, I sent this Lincoln in, thinking it might earn a 65+ or 66. It was graded 65RB beforehand. It didn't earn a plus, or a higher grade. Instead it came back 65RD. WTF? A few veterans ATS supported the color grade. But I don't buy it. I like the coin, and I don't really care what the graders said. But it does make me scratch my head. Anyone else think this is full RD? Lance.
