These were the best scans I could get, they don't show everything but my biggest question, is this double die or machine doubling? I don't collect errors, but I do enjoy looking through rolls from the bank. This one I found tonight and would like some input on what may have caused this and if there is any value. Above the letters of, united states of america, it looks to be doubled and the coating has come off, the gray area. the lower part of the c has some doubling as well as the middle of the r and the letter e. These did not show up as well in the scan. The mintmark also has the gray like doubling. The date and God also has some doubling but not gray colored. Thanks

I don't think I see any doubling but if there is any it's not a dd.

Here are some pics that were lightened up. The scanner doesn't do this coin justice. There is alot that I can see through a magnifier that is not showing up through the scan.

I don't think its a doubling....looks like simple exposure to something that has changed color around mintmark and lettering. IMO

Not doubling, the copper plating broke at the edge of the letters and the metal of the planchet expanded exposing the znc core. It isn't too unusual and if you get a couple hundred cents and go through them you will probably find at least a couple that show it somewhere on the coin.
