Hey,...thanks so much for the info. On a few occasions I've half-heartedly attempted to elicit the list, -( there's gotta be one )- of Lincoln Cent DDO/ DDR's,...and reaped the rewards deserving of any effort whatsoever done half-heartedly: Zilch. Time, time, time. However, I do possess the 1940 P WDDO #1 / WDDR #4. A gem of a surprise I'd overlooked for years. Another sparkler is the Roosevelt dime that sat atop a speaker on my desk, gathering ages of disinterested dust. -( I lost all active interest in collecting / pursuing any other denomination once I became enthralled to the mystique of the Lincoln Cent )- This little treasure proved to be #1 on "Coin Guys, Bubba & Zemo's Top Ten Roosevelt Dimes", ringing in at the sweet value of $450.00 in MS 63: It was the 1967 DDO/DDR, listed as: DDO-001, 1-0-11-C, F.S. # 10c-019. The Reverse is listed as: DDR-001, 1-R-2-C+V1 -( Die Markers available at Variety Vista )- I'd love to learn where I would find the above mentioned listing of all registered Lincoln Cent DDO/DDR's. Thanks again. 1944-D WDDO 015 WDDR 008 1940-S WDDO 002 WDDR 002 1946-D WDDO 003 WDDR 005 1944-D WDDO 023 WDDR 015 1944-D WDDO 012 WDDR 004 1939-P WDDO 016 WDDR 022 1939-P WDDO 015 WDDR 021 1934-P WDDO 001 WDDR 002 1943-D WDDO 019 WDDR 013 1941-D WDDO 003 WDDR 002 1937-D WRPM 001 WDDR 001 1938-D WRPM 002 WDDR 001 1941-D WRPM 007 WDDR 002 1942-S WRPM 011 WDDR 001 1943-D WRPM 015 WDDR 013 1946-S WRPM 017 DDR 003 1946-D WRPM 003 WDDR 005 1946-S WRPM 010 WDDR 002 1946-S WRPM 001 DDR 004 1946-D WRPM 007 WDDR 005[/QUOTE]
Not seeing any die doubling, but you've got plating issues on the reverse that can give the appearance of a doubled die. Another example of a DDO/DDR combo would be the 2004P-1DO/1DR-001. Keep up the hunt!
Hey, ASRICE; I just spent some time carefully going over the reverse of my own '95D DDO 3: you've really given me food for thought. Some of the pillars exhibit very strong doubling. For yourself, I'd suggest you visit coppercoins.com rather than the Lincoln Cent Resource though. By comparison, the LCR site provides only the barest minimum of info as well as fewer, much lower quality photographs. The coppercoins.com site is a breeze to navigate and also provides the all important die markers, at various die states, to remove all doubt. And of course the value chart gives you a reasonble idea of market worth. I'll get back to you regarding the reverse issue. Thanks.
The Lincolncentresource.com has pictures of most of the Major die varieties, asnwell as mint errors and small/large date coins. They do not specialize in the smaller, less-known varieties that coppercoins lists. Both are great resources, although coppercoins does have a larger database along with photos of die markers.
