    Hello all,

This is my first post. I have a 1947 Wheat Cent with an error around Lincoln's top portion of his head. There is a double scalp over/under "GOD". Can anyone give me any information on this coin error and the possible value?

    Thanks

That looks like a lamination to me. Either foreign material or air got into the planchet and the resulting layers have separated. There are people who collect them, but they are not know to make people rich.

    I agree - looks like a lamination.

Thank you RLM & Hobo. * I appreciate the input. * The portion over/under the "GOD" area is actually Lincoln's top portion of his head. * It was die stamped twice. * You could see the head and hair impressions on Lincoln's head and over/under "GOD". * How much do you think the value would be to a collector?

Sorry, guy... it is just as rlm and hobo told you. Lamination.

Value to a collector, few bucks maybe. If even that.
