Came across this mega ebay sale on antiques, coins and currency. Anybody see anything significant that would tout this auction as a buy and flip opportunity?

Me personally, there's tons of red flags on this one, especially the sellers feedback. She's a big seller of faux/costume jewelry and claims to have over 6 years of sterling feedback when she's only had the account for 4 years!!

And besides, why wouldn't you want to just break this auction up and make more money that way?!?

I don't see in the listing where it says what is in the pics is what you get ? Very questionable listing :rollling:

I noticed that too. I think I'm going to add it to my watch list just to see where it lands up price wise.

And they haven't had any feedback in 2 years. I remember seeing another auction just like this a while back. Too many red flags for my liking. I wouldn't bite.

Unfortunately there's 20+ other daydreamers who think they can pull a fast one with a "buy n flip" scheme. I hope the bidders know what they're getting themselves into.

    Too rich for me......:)

Also, a lot of junk I don't need. Could be interesting to see the outcome of this one.

I tried to find the thread on those other auctions your talking about (without any luck), but I remember it well... and the pictures were almost identical, including the cash register; and it was about two years ago. Definitely an auction to avoid.

I agree, I don't see any justification bleeding my retirement dry just to have a taste of this one. Thank goodness for the "add to watchlist" option.

That auction stinks to high heaven!

IMO, when that much time was spent posing the items....buyer beware.

WAY too much time spent posing the items at least three different ways.

I'm glad someone else remembers the same thing I do:) Sometimes I'm not too sure about my memory, lol!

The $500 bill was photographed how many times? It's not that special anymore.

And if anyone is thinking about bidding, the "disclaimer" at the end of auction page should be enough to scare off even the most trusting of buyers:

"There are no returns issued at any time for any reason. There is no guarantee as to genuineness, age, content, maker or provenance. The items have NOT been appraised, inspected or certified genuine."

Wow, 2 and a half months of photo taking and you can't back up your own product?!? That says something about your business ethics and trust. I didn't even scroll down all the way to the bottom.

They're counting on that most people won't. Might be a reason they have so many pictures.

Not that it matetrs but it does say this:
"PLEASE NOTE: THE COINS PICTURED ARE THE EXACT COINS YOU WILL RECEIVE."

I think this is a great deal. Looks like you will get at least 25 gold plated state quarters. How can you pass that up? HOW???

Dare I send the seller a note asking to see photos of each coin front and back? lol

I see smaller scale auctions much like this and the only thing that comes to mind is the Shell Game on Price is Right.
