The pictures don't do this justice and it may be too hard to give an opinion. i took this to a dealer who commented on the great toning on the obverse but couldn't tell if the reverse was artificial toning or not. i've read up on toning and how colors merge from oranges to magentas to sea-greens. its the "blotchiness" that is bothering me. I can't find any detracting marks one would want to cover up by artificially toning it. Thanks guys and gals! Not much bigger.....but it may help. I adjusted contrast and brightness, but its real hard to capture the colors with a 1980 model scanner.:goofer:

I've tried to get these pics a little better, but I don't know how to put them in a link on another web page so as to bypass the size constraints, but here they are. THanks for any help. Can't tell if this is natural toning on reverse. Obverse is great. I'll try to post my .psd pics in the gallery. They are a little larger.
The reverse has some colors which may be deemed as questionable. Without having the coin in hand, I think it may be impossible to determine if it is in fact AT or not. Even in hand, it may be very open to debate.
My opinion too. Dealers around here haven't been helpful. I want to get it graded, but don't want to bust out? In my hand under magnification, it looks like someone dropped maybe an acid from a "dropper". I'm being a pesimist. It does have no wear and full bands and strips on reverse. Any suggestions on sending it? I know ultimately its my decision, but thats why I'm here. For guidance. Maybe I could e-mail you larger photos Zaneman???

The toning appears to be artificial and a result of very high temperatures! If I had to guess as to the source, I would think that it was baked in an oven for several hours at 350 degrees or higher. Frank
I will wager this coin is NT. Furthermore, I will wager it toned in a Whitman album or one of similar construction (one side "open" the other side "covered")...Mike
