I was just searching through ebay listings for 1970 s small date Lincons and came across this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-S-Linc...31?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item2c63ee0a5f It's in a NGC slab labeled as a 1970-S small date, but it doesn't look like a small date to me. The inside curl of the 9 looks the be pointing towards the top of the mint mark, not the bottom of the 7. The 7 looks to be too low, not level with the 0. Also, the word LIBERTY is sharper than on 1970-S small dates.
Cert matches! Ebay photo and NGC photo look like the same coin to me. http://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/CertResults.aspx?CertNumber=3554188-005
No surprise there and this has nothing to do with his question. Yes, it does appear to be a large date coin.
It is a large date. redwin117, Between parenthesis, I communicate you the following: you're selling an 800-dollar, double-denomination piece for almost 10 million USD as "the most rare coin" known to mankind.
