The Images I have posted are from 2 different 2000 Sacagawea coins. While looking over these coins I notcied that the designer's initials TDR (Thomas D. Rogers) were not all present on one of the coins. I took it to the microscope for a closer look and it is clear that the T and only a small portion of the D are there and the R is nowhere to be found. There is no outline of the letter and no damage to the area where the R should be. I am assuming that this is a Filled Die error but I am not 100% positive. Can anyone please help me out with a second opinion?
Looks a little battered. Perhaps just normal wear? Since we can't see the whole coin, what do you think it could grade?
It looks to be at least AU-50 but that's just by using the book for comparison. I just found it so I wanted to see if it was even worth getting it checked out by a professional.
Alright, well I definately feel the same. I'll package this bad boy up and see about getting it looked at. Thanks alot for your help, I almost thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.
