Hello, My mum recently gave me this coin found it in a jar with keyrings etc. I put it in my 1993 5p gap thinking this way a normal coin everything except the metal is normal (diameter design etc.) Today I went to a car boot sale and bought a few pre euro coins (around 50) When I came home to fill in gaps in my album I noticed that it was a different colour to my others (in the picture) How valuable is this coin?
I agree, enviromental damage of some sort. I have several coins that have the same look to them but don't know what caused it. Bruce
It may be environmental. If you have a balance, weigh it to see if it matches other coins. If not, then its a different metal.
