Hey guys, I just signed up today! Yay!!

I am no means an expert of coin collecting/grading of any means but have a great interest in this.

You see, my dad passed away recently and I was going through his drawers and found some interesting coins from the places he'd traveled throughout his lifetime. And there's this one penny that has caught my eye. The impressions on the date is so heavily died that I can't even make it out. It looks as though it read 1555. I will upload a picture of it tomorrow.
But can anyone tell me off hand how much it might be worth?

Thanks for your time in reading my post. It is greatly appreciated.

If you post a picture we would be glad to help but without it it's too hard to tell.

By "penny" do you mean a US Cent or a British Penny? The US did not exist (and certainly did not mint coins) in 1555 but England most certainly minted coins in 1555.

I apologize...I meant to say 1550/1950 ... Was a bit drowsy and excited when I found this website...

Pretty beaten up. I wouldn't spend anymore time on it. Just toss it into the junk bucket and move on.:)

1950D penny. With that condition, I'd say VG10 at the most.

How could that even potentially be a 1555 penny... The guy on the front of the coin wasn't even born yet.
