1899 Black Eagle Dollar Carving

    Picked this up at an antique shop that was going out of business. It is about 2 feet tall and 4 feet wide. I'm guessing someone carved it out of wood, and back in the early 70s, some company made a mold of it and cast a few out of some sort of resin that keeps the woodcarving look. Took a closeup of the Lincoln to show the detail.

    Very pleased with it as a decoration -- especially if I ever open up a B&M.

    Ever seen one before? Has a bronze label on the back saying "Venture Studios 1973" but I wasn't able to find much about it on the internet.

    Thoughts? Kind of makes me want to try a real carving some day... :)

    That. Is. AWESOME!!! I got a piece of coin "Paraphernalia" lately as well for hopes of a B&M display in the future.

    That's nice! Is that scrollsaw work on wood?

    Oh, and I just went and measured the dollar, turns out it is closer to 1 1/2 feet by 3 feet than 2x4.

    No worries. That means a Brick & Mortar (i.e. a physical coin shop)
