What's this worth.

    Man this is just hair under a quarter in size. Too bad it don't fit in my BCW's well.

    It's one of my oldest silver coins. 1826!

    Its worth its weight in silver, major scratches on the reverse (staple maybe?) and it looks to have been harshly scrubbed as well. It also appears to be the highest minted of the three years this design was minted.

    I know nothing about the history of this coin though, so this year may be rare nowadays, and may be worth more, thats just my observations and opinion.

    Edit: But nice old coin nonetheless.

    dsmith, it's a shilling, not a penny. this design was used in 4 years, not 3. however, you are correct in that it is the most common year available.
