This came in a large lot of silver coins that I bought, I really do not have a clue why it was included but I am happy that it was. I got 40 BU halves and quarters for spot, this and 4 1909 VDB's were free I guess. I know this is the non stem variety but can anybody give me any additional info.
1806 C-1 small 6 stemless R-1 Probably the second most common variety of the year but popular because of the stemless wreath which makes it a Redbook variety. I suspect the dies are axially misaligned. The die faces were not parallel being closer together at 6:00 on the obv and 12:00 on the rev, and further apart at 12:00 obv and 6:00 rev. That is the reason for the weakness of LIBERTY and RICA and fraction. If you ignore that weakness from strike the coin would probably grade VG. I don't think it could be pushed to Fine. You got quite a bargain.
Oh I forgot to mention that you need to be very careful, those old coppers can be quite infectious. If you don't want to take the risk of catching the copper bug you can box that up and send it to me. I'm already infected.
