    Hi-

Lucky day in the change I got back from my 8$ lunch. Paid with a ratty 10$ and got these back. I made my friend get the tip...

This is my first repeating serial number. That 1/128th Irish really stepped up today :)

Love the repeater. I have yet to find one! How was the lunch?

Barbecue and beer for 8 bucks is a screaming deal. The star and repeater is even louder of a deal!

Thanks everyone - this made for a great day... weird and lucky, and great :)

Yeah, kookoox10, I had a banner day - BBQ and a pint was on special. Always take advantage of THAT!

    Best regards. -L

i only collect coins, not bills so this is probably a dumb question but is a bill with a repeating number like that valuable? what about the star note?

    Hi Cmilladoo-

I can only say that the statistical odds of getting a repeating are 'much lower' than the odds of getting a random sequence of numbers :) I have it on my TODO list to work out the odds someday but haven't gotten around to it. Similarly for the star note. The star note only represents an error printing. Not terribly rare, but still a cool find.

The reason for my original post is that the chances of getting BOTH out of change for a 10$ bill are awful darn remote! Plus, it was my first repeater after looking at money for many years... t'was a rather good day, and lucky.

Not much help I'm afraid. To your original question, I don't consider my lucky dollars to be worth more than 2 bucks :) It was just the odds... and St. Patrick's Day... well, and barbecue...
