IHC - Possible proof?

    These two IHC's really stick out amongst my other ones. I don't think I could be that lucky, but any chance one of these may be a proof?

    Neither one appears to be a proof. First, the rims don't appear square enough. Second, the area inside the shield on the reverse doesn't appear mirrored. Third, the lettering and date don't appear "squared" off as they do on proof issues (on your coins the lettering and date appear "rounded" like business struck coins).

    Thanks leadfoot. I see how the year is much more flat as well. I will take a closer look at the rim when I'm home.

    Yeah, I was in the process of editing in a comment about the lettering. That's another key feature that is often different between proof and business struck coins.

    Thanks guys. It would have been a nice surprise. They are certainly beautiful business strikes.

    They are stunning coins. And there's just something about proof IHC's that make you go :D
