I got some more of my Icelandic Kingdom coins (8) photographed so I'm putting them up here. First are my 10 Aurar coins.
Nice coins Kasia, my step dad has a collection of these to die for, always interesting to see someone else into these.
Hi Kasia,,,,,your collection of Icelandic coins are sure growing,,,The 1931 2 aurar are hard to find even in circulated condition....Keep up the good work.
Nice coins! I seek to buy some Icelandic coins sometime By the way, what method is everyone using to give their coin images the background and reflection? Is there a website to do this or do you use Photoshop/GIMP effects? (I don't need someone to write a tutorial, just curious what method) Thanks!
Hi Matthew....I specialize in Icelandic coins and would sure like to see some pictures of you Step Father's Icelandic coins. Here is one I got last year......
Go to ......http://www.photoscape.org This is the link almost everyone here is using....Another member here gave us this site and it works really good and easy to use.
I also enjoy Icelandic coins. Here's a few on My Albums page of my modest collection. http://www.cointalk.com/members/jlblonde/albums/iceland/
Thank you all! I never thought ahead of time that I would be collecting Icelandic coins, but they are truly beautiful IMO. I'm glad I have a collection going. It will take me some time, but I'm going to enjoy every minute of it, and I also enjoy when others put up their Iceland coins. Keep it up!
Hi, I was wondering if you could by so kind, as to help me out as I have a set of 874-1974 Aniversary three pc coin set with the gold 10,000 krona in it . Could you tell me more about it as I would like to know what thier value is worth. Thier where only 8,000 minted gold 10,000 krona but how many went into these sets. regards bravo69
Hi , Kasia thanks heaps for replying and lets hope that we can find some thing out once agian thank you. regards Bravo69
Welcome to the forum....bravo68 No one knows for sure how many of the coins were melted ,,but i would estimate that about half was melted according to what I have read over the years. Your three coin set in proof and still in the wrapper would usally sell for around $900 to $950 USD and maybe more if the gold proof is a really nice one,,,,Right now the gold coin is really based on the current gold price and will change as the gold goes up or down and pretty much the same for the silver coins.....plus I think that about a fouth of these gold coins where placed in the three coin set and maybe less then a thrid are still remaining as a set.......I hope this was helpfull
Hi, Ice man thanks for the reply to my thread my local coin shop was overing $850 Aus to buy from me so they where not to far out. regards Bravo69
Interesting coins. We see the older issues here but they are almost invariably heavily worn. How's the market for Iceland now? I'd guess it's fairly good after all the financial perturbations that have gone on.
I bought the proof set from Siggi for 750 USD couple months ago. http://www.cointalk.com/t165399-43/#post1386103
