Let me begin by saying that I have no knowledge of paper currency, so forgive my ignorance. I have noticed "star notes" in my $50 bills I have got back. I ended up spending them to get more rolls, but should I hold on to them? How do I tell if they are valuable? How hard are they to sell, as I do not collect them or any paper currency? I just thought I should educate myself because it seems like I have been seeing a lot of them lately. (Until the other day I didn't even know what the * meant). -JB
I typically ask 25% over FV for the ones I sell. If they are a high mintage run & in poor condition I'll release them into the wild. I tend to keep the ones in CU with a mintage of <640k
It would all depend on the print run of the notes. Smaller the run, the more ability they have to go up in value.
