Every time I bring up this thread in order to see what other coins have been recently posted, I always see the first entry, a beautiful 1936 Norfolk, Virginia half dollar. It is the coin "that started it all," so to speak, just over a year ago. The coin is absolutely gorgeous. This thread of discussion is truly a collector's enjoyment to read.
A lovely design on the new Star-Spangled Banner dollar, indeed. I have ordered mine, both proof and uncirculated, along with a pair of Infantry dollars, a burnished uncirculated silver eagle and the Chickasaw "puck." I cannot wait for this little box of goodies to arrive!
Took a flyer on this raw Proof Indian last night. These are the sellers images. I will post new images when I get it in hand.
This is a fun find if you will, had been sitting in a friends jar at home. Before it was in the jar it must have been sitting on a patterned piece of material for some time. I love the toning on the reverse where it picked up the pattern. Not worth much but a fun find none the less!
While I'm usually a fan of blast white the way the crud on this coin brings out the details of the design made me squeal like a school girl at a Justin Beiber concert.
These are my two favorite Peace Dollar designs...blast white and circulated to make Liberty look ghostly. Truly nice piece you have!
That is one smokin 51 buddy!! It's also my birth year so I think you should just give me this one....Just let me know when I can pick it up....LOL
Depending on which forum you go to, they're usually throwing rocks at the design (Star Spangled) or singin' it's praises......Me? I love 'em.
here are my newest acquisitions. I dont think i over paied, but i would like to know if you guys think i over paid or not, so i have placed the price with every coin. $3.30 $3.30 $3.30 $2.65 $2.65 More in the next post
Good selection, Koen! The dimes I don't think you overpaid. I think the silver value is there right now. The El Junque, maybe by about 50-75cents. I don't know about the other older coins. The presidential coins you definitely paid over. They really aren't worth that much, IMO, for what the condition looks like, but I also understand you're over in Belgium. Just getting those from the US would have cost about 4.00 in postage, I think, so take that into consideration.
that is also a reason why i dont think i overpaid, postage from the US to here is sometimes more than the coins themselfs.
Ken I like this design , just wish they could identified what it;s commemorating better , how many people can identify that fort . The Gold piece is the one I think they could have designed better .
