1998 and 1995 nickels with circular dents on reverse

Folks,

I'm not sure what, if anything, to make of these coins. Both are Denver mint, one is '95, and the other is '98. There are visible circular dents on the reverse sides of both coins. I've included another '95 nickel for comparison. One can also feel the marks with a fingernail.

So, what do you make of these? Some type of striking error? Or simply damage from circulation? Admittedly, I have no idea.

These are caused by the roll wrapping machines I believe. Post mint damage.

You'll come across lots of these if you search coin rolls.

 

Yup and it's pretty obvious as well when you come across them.
