I'm jealous of everyone's finds. My volume is way up and my finds are pitiful. Maybe I can turn it around this weekend with my boxes and then next week I'm going to Boston. I would have to imagine there are a ton of banks in and around the city that I will hit up for half dollars. I'll be on foot so hopefully they are stacked on top of one another so it's worth it. I need to find something from a teller tray in the worst way.

this is where marking coins would be useful if it weren't a pain in the butt and damaging. I wonder if you guys have cycled through and are going back through a pallet of coins that you already went through.

I have high hopes as the opposite seems to have happened with me. I went from tons of marked coins every box to no marked coins. I think I finally got through all that other guys junk. no monster boxes yet but I can hope!

I'm not going through my own skunks, I'm going through someone else's for sure (blue sharpie on the eagle tail). Yesterday there was a glimmer of hope with the 1 x 40%, so perhaps I'm through all the bad stuff. I'm going heavier this week with a different supplier that is more consistant. Does anyone else find Loomis rolls a PITA to open compared to Strings? I opened two Loomis boxes rapidly and by the end one finger was bloody from picking the ends of the rolls out so I could peel them open. Maybe I need some sort of tool?

I occasionally use one of my daughters forks. it's metal but small. just pry one tong in and slide it around and wiggle up to loosen the crimp. Not If you have a nice ender though!!

you dont reroll though so you could just use a fork or flat head and push through the crip then tear it apart from there.

Picked up 2 boxes of halves on lunch that I will go through tonight.

stopped by the bank next door as always to see if they have any loose halves and they had 1. She said "It's just a 67 though." Her inflection was so negative that I was actually disappointed for a couple seconds, then the light bulb went off! LOL

One of my main dime banks just switched from strings to brinks rolls . Hopefully it will turn out OK, or they will switch back

I like the clear wrappers for dimes, you can check 50 rolls in a minute! But watch out for those Bluenoses and 5p's!

Yesterday: About $300 in dimes, found one silver Roosie. $120 in quarters, skunk. $70 in halves, found one 40%er. I have my first box of halves coming in today, wish me luck!

Took my planned road trip today, only got about $600 in CWR halves. but still got 6 40%'s and a 90%. Also picked up a bag of 98 ikes and found a 40% ike, and
    A PEACE DOLLAR!!!!!
I saw the silver edge of the ike through the bag and was very excited, but never in my life thought it would be possible to get a peace dollar for $1!!!
When they told me they had a bag of 98 ikes I almost didn't buy it because I already have a couple hundred at home that I'm not sure what to do with, but decided what the heck :)! Guess that was a good decision haha!

    Crazy day for me...

$100 in CWNickles, 6 of the rolls were light blue... I opened one and right on the end was a Buff!!! I quickly opened the others and ended up with 6 dateless buffs. Some of them have mintmarks... I wish the dates were there! :(

Went to the bank and picked up $30 in CWHalves, and the teller says "oh, the old woman said there was nothing good in there, nothing 64 and before which is silver". He thought he was the BIG CHEESE giving me this info, but HAHA I knew, silver halves actually continued up until 1970. So I said "I'll take them anyways."
The rolls yielded 48 (YES FORTY EIGHT) proof half dollars ranging from the 70's and 80's. COOL!

Another $100 in CRNickels, 1x 1945P war, 1992s Proof, and 2 MisAligned Dies (not much, but enough to cut off some letters).

    I'm happy!

2 boxes of halves today; Didn't have enough cash to get any more of my orders.

First had nothing, second had 12 40%ers. Feels good to break that funk. More boxes tomorrow!

EDIT: Might be able to pick up two more tonight... :)

Decided to take a drive over to the next town over, and to my surprise 3 or 4 banks had rolled halves availabe, so I bought about $120 worth from a few banks...

...and all skunk. Seems like someone dumped a box at various banks across town :(

Really hope they don't move in on my turf! Anyone in northern NJ here? :(

Like so many others lately I've been having really bad luck with BWRs this week (I'll post my full results tomorrow) besides a Merc Dime, but I did manage to snag $4.50 in halves at one of the busier banks near my house, and got 2x40%s and a WL! I still have 2 boxes of dimes to sort through too, so here's hoping

edit: and yea that Peace Dollar find is crazy. I always buy (and keep) as many ikes as I can find, since even the clad ones can be sold at a small premium and you can always just spend them in an emergency. I should really take the time to learn the varieties and check them out, rather than just throw them in a big tin.

Btw, does anyone know what banks keep paper large dollar wrappers in stock? I don't want to have to order them over the internet...
