Here are those pictures I wanted to post yesterday, but couldn't. The cleaned Roman is unattributed, and I have no idea what it could possibly be, other than pre-Constatinian. I searched through the Wildwinds site yesterday with little luck. My new two-cent piece (slowly building my 19th century type-set, though I still have a Buf. var. and a Stand. Lib. var. to acquire to complete my 20th cent. type-set [no gold in either, obviously, and ending in '64 for the 20th) The Hungarian denar is tiny. It's enclosed in a dime 2x2, and it's as thin as a piece of paper, but it still looks nice to me!
Ohhh Man, I wouldn't ZAP that Roman anymore. You have a good bit of coin showing in pretty good shape. It looks like an Antonious (sp) with Elagabalus on it. Haha, that one was actually professionally cleaned, so I won't be touching it at all. The really dirty one is being zapped in a few of the photos, and the other one (which I'm quite sure is from the Constanine family because of a circular design on the reverse that looks to be like one of the many common VOT reverses, much like the camp-gates) is simply soaking in that first photo. At this point, I think the cleaned, unattributed one is either a Claudius II or Maximian, with a definite eagle CONSECRATIO reverse. The lettering on the obverse is so worn, though, it's hard to tell but by portrait alone.
