For being an excellent salesman lately, my boss put together 5 packs of coins, and said I could choose 2, as a reward and appreciation for being a good salesman. I was SO excited, I spent HOURS trying to decide. I finally did. No pics yet, BUT here were my choices and what I picked! Pack 1: 1952-D and 1954 Franklin Half-Dollars. Both in F to XF. Pack 2: 1948-S, 1952-D, 1955, and 1944 Washington Quarter-Dollars. All in F-15 to VF-35. Pack 3: 1946-S, 1948-S, 1949-D, 1955-S, and 1958 Roosevelt Dimes. All but the '49D were in AU to MS-62ish. Pack 4: 1936-S Lincoln Cent, 1950-S Lincoln Cent, both BU. 1973-S Eisenhower Dollar, kinda smudgy for a proof. There was also a 1974 & 1977 Mint Set. Pack 5: 4 BU Nickels, including a 1950-D! Other years were 1964-D, 1959, 1960-D...and I believe a NCO club token from the Vietnam War. I chose Pack 1 and Pack 2. I picked pack 1 because I only had 1 Franklin Half-Dollar previously. A 1963-D, in AU. So, I wanted to give Ben some friends to play with. I also picked pack 2, because as you may or may not know I recently traded some silver WQDs for my one and only 1932-D that I recently shared. So, I wanted to recover some of my lost trade and get my album back up and going. I ALMOST chose the pack with that 1950-D Nickel. I even offered to buy it! He said it was not for sale, but it may come up for grabs again! All the nickels were gorgeous, but that 1950-D was speaking to me! It had this really, really great "gun metal" color toning to it. Full steps, but some VERY minor blemishes on the obverse. I would rate it at roughly MS-65. I also really loved the BU cents, but I am not working on putting together a Lincoln album or anything...YET. However, that does not mean they did NOT look amazing and they were very tempting. Thanks for the time you took to read my post! I am just very excited about my new pick-ups and will share pictures in the new acquisitions thread soon! I told my wife, but as she is NOT a collector at ALL she really did not care much. So, I decided to talk about it with my numismatist friends! --Rob.
Wife: Oh cool you got a $2 bonus today :rollling: Kanderus: I sure did!:hail: Where do you work? I'm guessing a coin shop?
Tool shop! However, we do have a small consignment and used tool section =P If I worked in a coin shop I would be homeless because all of my check would be gobbled up the second I got it!
If only every job had a bonus like that. And good choices too, Franklin Half Dollars are good looking coins.
YES! I thought I was the only one. My boss gave me an ASE the other day because I did well with sales.
