Hammered - any ideas?

When going through a box of "junk" coins, I found this small hammered one. It is in dreadful condition, and will be of no monetary value. However, my interest has been piqued! Unfortunately, I cannot find a likeness on the web, and don't have any relevant books (too early for KM, I suspect). Size is 21mm, and weight is 1.6gr. Looks to be of billon.
    Any suggestions would be welcomed.
Regards from a rather chilly and dull West of Scotland,
    Gary

All I can say sir is the obverse looks like Madonna and Child, so I was suspecting Hungarian, but the reverse is wrong.

I wish I were of more help. Hopefully someone here will recognize it for you.

Look under Venice, probably 16th-18th century.

Jack D, actually!!! Now I have been given a pointer by Ardatirion (many thanks), it does look like a 12 Denari coin of the Doges of Venice. I had skimmed my KM (1980 edition), but not spotted this; slapdash, I guess (even if there are over 1800 pages in it).
Another puzzle solved, so I can sleep soundly tonight!
    Thanks again.
    Regards
