I picked this note up yesterday. I thought it was neat and I wanted to share.

I have been around forever and never found a bill like that one. I use to work for the NYS Bridge Authority as a Toll Collector, I found other stuff but nothing like this. Great find.

Super note and well preserved as well! Will you be having it certified?

I will be having it certified. It's a nice CU note.

I seem to recall you had another error note some months back, was it a $100? You were thinking to certify that if I recall correctly. Again, IF I am right about that piece, do you recall which one it was and what you got back from the TPG?

EDIT: Here is the old thread I was thinking of... did PMG ever certify this note?

I showed it around at the ANA show to some currency dealers who specialized in error notes. They said that they were actually relatively common and worth around $200 in the condition. Apparently a decent sized stack of paper was fed in upside down. I got that from 2 different dealers. I decided against having it holdered and have since sold it.

Thanks for the update. I would have thought it could sell for more, but I guess a conference of dealers will know the market better, plus the expense to holder didn't help resale value. It's just with errors I tend to feel safer with the added approval of a TPG that it's an authentic error note. Still, it's not bad getting 200 (or more) from 100.

    +1, nice profit either way.

krispy, I am the same with error notes. If I buy them they have to be slabbed or from Heritage for me to feel safe on it s authenticity.

Beautiful note, Matt, and it's nice that the first digit is the one of interest.
