I would say MS63-64? Beautiful half.

Don't laugh until after I have logged-off for the day. I didn't understand the three letter acronym "GTG" until now.

The photo doesn't show any contacts in the fields to make me think AU. I am going to guess that it is a MS coin. Your photo looks almost pure black & white with zero color and sort of subdued in the luster department. I suspect that is just the photo but it makes my guess MS63. I don't have a TLA for my guess.

The coin looks much nicer in hand. What's a TLA?

TLA is a Three Letter Acronym for Three Letter Acronym. :)

I'm sure he's quite practiced at numismatics. That's not a talent that is inborn.

    Thanks! :D
When buying graded coins, I try to buy only those that are strong for the grade and I don't really mind paying for the privilege of doing so.
ICCS is very conservative and I think this particular coin could possibly grade MS64 at NGC.

For Canadian coins ICCS is tops and as you say tough, its a beautiful coin, I have sent in a number of coins to them and have almost never been right about the grade but its a good way to learn more about grading.
