Here is a question I have never heard a response to. Does it matter whether you get a check made out to your business that must be deposited to your business account, your name or to "cash"? Other thoughts; people think that by cashing the check at the bank of the payor they can avoid tax, etc.. Is this true? Also others sign their checks UCC 1-207, "Without Prejudice". Anyone if any of these options makes a difference in how the banks and tax authorities address the nature of the income? Thanks.
There are lots of ways to avoid paying taxes but should people? No. Should those that do get caught have to pay the penalties, ALWAYS!
Good points. It is better to take all your expense or business deductions rather than set up red flags with the authorities. I have posted on this topic before. The computers are getting better at profiling. It reminds me of a fellow who I used to know who would rather pick up a 5cent deposit can than a nickel or work for it. Pavlov had a lot to say about conditioning of behavior and his dogs who were made to salivate at the ringing of the dinner bell.
