    That's great !

As far as I know to date there are 3 authenticated ANACS AU 58+ and 1- AU 40.
PCGS nor NGC recognize the variety as yet. But it has a FS # and is being featured in the upcoming CP guide.

I believe that I have the only ANACS certified one not held by a collector in NC who has the others. There are only a couple of IGC specimens like the one MS64 shown on the LCR site. In fact I have only found that one, but there may be a couple more.

It is extremely rare. The last sale on record was a couple years ago of an unauthenticated specimen which fell through according to the owner. I cannot tell you a value, simply because there aren't any sales comps. Many will tell you it is a $500 coin. It may be. However, my thought is that if I were to sell mine, there is no way I will ever find a replacement. Of course, no LMC set is complete without the CAMs, WAMs and transition set. It would be like having a wheat set missing the 1922. IMHO

If you need any help submitting it or sending it to be authenticated, shoot me a PM and I'll give you what I have.

    Congrats !

    Gary

Congrats for that great 1988-D with 1989 reverse. I believe the Denver mint is even rarer than the Philadelphia mint in the variety. Whatever you plan to do with it, KEEP IT AS SAFE AS YOU CAN. No one knows yet what the the 1988 and 1988-D with 1989 reverse will be finally listed at for
rarity, value and importance for set completeness. Quite a few finders of this cent have expressed to be very anonymous and even very
secretive about having one in their possession. They believe it will be listed with a five figure price. So whatever comes about there will be a time where the listings for this variety will fluctuate drastically. So wait and see, take you time. You are one of the very, very few to have what appears to be an 'AU' grade at least. I have one, the Philly variety. And I am not afraid to say I have one....in a very safe place.

Thanks Zeke, Already in Safe Deposit Box and took lots of photos first. The biggest question I have is why doesn't PCGS acknowledge this coin as of now ? Does it take the Mint or a certain person / group to acknowledge it before they do. Just Wondering.
