Can the honorable members of this forum help me justify my $0.16 investment. I am hoping to double that investment and I am offering this offer to you in reply to your offers in the off chance I don't get nailed for increasing my coffers. Slap me with some prices! Or not...:arguing: Any clues? Thx in advance, Joe
For a similar one that looks more like yours, look at this web site:http://numismatics.org/collection/1984.121.1
That's what I was thinking too, but the back kinda throws me off. It has a shield with three symbols inside and a crown on top. My other sols don't have that. Is there a pic or a site that has something similar? Unfortunately, the reverse image won't show no matter whether the coin is scanned or photographed. It's that faint and my camera is that bad.
1st one shows Louis XVI, and you can see the positioning of the XVI in front of him. And this one looks like it has about the same positioning of those numerals:
My first thought was "wait you can see the design on the back??" Then I read the rest of your post lol. And Kasia beat me to the answer.
The 2nd one looks British to me, maybe this: http://www.google.com/imgres?q=george+half+penny&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1024&bih=537&tbm=isch&tbnid=KwvHIeKo4d3uXM:&imgrefurl=http://davidforward.com/menus/money/coins-2/athelstan-museum-coins/na-george-iii-penny-1775/&docid=nB4Veky7M3P3rM&imgurl=http://davidforward.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/UK-George-III-Evasion-Half-Penny-1775-a-copy-Malmesbury-Memories-676x676.jpg&w=676&h=676&ei=8JVVT8C7FYz4gAfk0fDEDQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=566&vpy=125&dur=725&hovh=225&hovw=225&tx=91&ty=115&sig=116920582231012701518&page=1&tbnh=109&tbnw=109&start=0&ndsp=12&ved=1t:429,r:3,s:0 http://www.google.com/imgres?q=geor...9&tbnw=109&start=0&ndsp=12&ved=1t:429,r:4,s:0
