I don't really like jewelry but that is kind of cool. The only problem I do have with this auction is his statement of:

"Not only is the coin styleish and one of a kind it also said that wearing copper can alleviate arthritis pain in the wrist and hand, Immune System, Blood Health, and cardiovascular health"

That's been debunked so many times on every scientific level. It reminds me of the scammers that tell you to wear magnet bracelets that improve your performance and balance, etc. ;)

Don't get your hopes up. They're going to tell you a penny is too small to make one. Even a quarter is pushing it. I had a guy make a 1892-O quarter into a ring for me. It fits my pinky. They might be able to make a quarter ring a little bigger. I don't think a Lincoln cent will have enough material for a ring. If it does, it will be razor thin.

First you ask if anyone can make a coin ring... two hours later you say you bought one. Sort of negates the original question, doesn't it? Now you want to know is it "bad"... what does that mean? Do you mean "is it bad for my health?" Or "Am I a bad boy for wearing a defaced and mutliated U.S. coin?"

What a neat idea. My wedding rings no longer fit and I've been refusing to pay the hundreds of dollars that they've quoted us to have them enlarged. I think I'm going to show my hubby this post and beg him to make me a silver coin ring for Christmas. It seems so much more personal and creative than the typical store bought types, especially since he knows how obsessed I am with coins! What kind of tool is being used to create the intricate designs?

No tool... the design is part of the coin. CT member Judd has a method of forming the coin into a ring while protecting the original design. You can read more here:

Just an FYI it'll probably turn your finger green if you wear it a lot.

I assume you mean copper not silver.... lol

But anyways if you can't fit a penny on your finger the walking liberties are beautiful. My girlfriend got me a '43 for our anniversary last April. It still looks great and my finger isn't green. :p
