Looks really cool! I can't help you with this one. I'm really curious as to what it might be.

Struck through some sort of struck fragment??? I'll defer to Mike on this one. I sure haven't seen one like this... But admittedly it does look like it has a chance.

Looks like someone put glue over a coin, let it set, then pulled it off and transferred part of that to this coin as an overlay.

It's not a glue job... Notice how the underlying design is distorted?

It's not that i can tell...Look at the rim, if it were a rim/vice job then that would be bent as well and it's clearly not. It looks like PMD to me but I am starting to think otherwise..it could be all this mud that I have been sanding that is making me dulisional (remodelling my bathroom atm)

Looks like it was struck through a laminated portion of another cent. Interesting

Same here, looks as if a laminated fragment feel off another cent and was struck into this one...

I'm thinking the same thing. But what a chunk to be struck through!

It has got to be struck through a fragment. An up-side-down fragment to e specific. That would be the only way the lettering would not be mirrored.

I read this thread and I can not believe some of the answers like glue then hammer/vise job. folks on a hammer or vise job the coin's rim is pushed out wider than normal and the other side of the coin will show some damage somewhere. I agree with what rim's cents said . the struck thru fragment could have been really thin and maybe upside down like rim's cents said. where the fragment was so thin this may have allowed the letters to still be pushed into this coin . another thing it looks like is what is called a counter brockage. either way it is a awesome and really valuable coin. thanks ttuck for showing us this coin. remember I told you earlier that you may find some good ones.

My evidence that a sarcasm symbol is needed.
