The "B" in LIBERTY is what initially caught my interest. Also, possibly the ear, the "9" and some random letters, but it appears most obvious with the "B".

    Thoughts?

Thanks. Unfortunately, that link only lists DDR's for the Presidential Years coins and the errors on this coin are on the obverse.

No, if you keep looking they have DDO's too. Maybe not for all 4 of the varieties, I didn't check them all once I saw how many there are.

from my experience, alot of the zinc cents show a kind of bubbling in places, that could explain the B, plus there's sometimes a "split" in the copper at the base of devices (letters, numbers etc) that look weird to the naked eye. Guess there can be "notching" on 2009 cents lol, gonna have to look through all mine again.

So, I hate to sound overly eager, but does this at least mean that I've finally got one that isn't mechanically doubled (even if it may not be worth much)?! :)

I see neither any doubled die, nor mechanical doubling. Appears more like chips out of the die or possibly the plating, but I think it is die damage.

Yep I was just going to say that it was die chips.

I took a better look at the coin today with a microscope and I think you guys are correct. It does look like die chips rather than doubling. Thank you!

The only thing I really questioned was the G. It looks like it may have split serifs at the top, but I can't tell for sure.

It is definitely not a doubled die.

Check out "doubleddie.com" especially for the 2009 series. Good luck.
