Here's a couple I have. I like them because they are big, relatively cheap, big, shiny, and big. Unless you get into the copper-nickel clad versions that are less-shiny and more expensive. But still big. I do not have ADD... The first two I sent in myself straight from the blue pack and 3-coin bicentennial pack. The last two I bought already slabbed. Does the grading seem consistant?
Holy cow, ldhair - those are nice clads!!! What are they, MS67? MS66? If the slabbed 77D is not a MS67 there is no justice... Is it one of the half dozen or so MS67s? My best clads are a 71D and 78D MS66. :-( After that they get expensive REAL fast.
Don't tell anyone, or it might ruin my image (lol), but I started collecting Ikes even before copper. I have probably 40 slabbed examples. You can see them here: http://www.pbase.com/miker/ikes Here are two of my favorites: The latter is a 69DCAM, and I have absolutely no idea why it is not a 70.
I also collect Ike dollars and agree with your thoughts! Here's an Ike collecting project I've got going on: PCGS Set Registry > Collectors Showcase > Themed Coins: 40% Silver San Francisco Mint Ike Dollars 1971-1974 & 1976 Sorry, I haven't made my own pics of my graded Ike dollars. I'm not set up for imaging slabbed coins so well. Eventually I'll get around to that task. :smile
I like Ike too. However, I have a question for you... Are those actually "YOUR" coins James? Seems the NGC certified Brown Box Ike is copied from a Collectors Society thread here and the 1971-S in the Littleton bag was used in a Coin World article. The thread says, "Show me YOUR graded Ikes". Neither in your post appears to be yours and one isn't graded in the the TPG-sense. Got anything of YOURS to share? As I said, I like Ikes, like you like Ikes.
Wow, that's quite a difference, but looking at it now, of course you're correct. Heck, I'd take 64s like that all day. What a pretty coin.
