I got this 1921 Peace Dollar yesterday from a B&M dealer who also does a mail order service. I have bought from them before and have been very satisfied. But this is definitely my largest single purchase from them, besides my 20th ASE set. I was curious about what the masses thought this coin would grade to if I submitted it. Thanks in advance!

For starters, The strike is excellect. Seldom do you find higher-grade examples with full seperation between the bust's cheek and hair locks covering her ear. Unfortunately, I wouldn't venture to say your coin is uncirculated. I definitely detect signs of wear on the eagle's back feathers and Miss Liberty's hair bun. The numerous reed marks and overall washed-out luster (possible that's caused in part by the images you've provided begin scans rather than much-needed photographs) all suggest that this is an AU example.

But, without proper photos, I we can't confirm that the coin is problem free. Scans are good at hiding signs of improper cleaning.

The coin looks like it is a low range AU (definitely not unc.). Therefore, it is not of a value which justifies spending money to have it graded.

Here are some pictures, rather than scans, that I took with a cell phone. I hope they help with grading the coin. Thanks again!

    I'd say AU at best.
From the scan's it looked washed out but from the picture it looks polished.
For the price range of that coin I would not think I would send it for grading IMO.
But it is a good date.

The strike isn't bad for the typically mushy '21. But it is very baggy, especially the obverse, and likely an AU50-53.

It is hard to say if it will grade without problems. The neck shows some hairlines which could be from a cleaning or simply circulation. If that's a scratch at 5k reverse it could spell trouble.

I wouldn't spend money on having it graded but that's your call.

The '21 Peace dollar is special and you should be proud to own one. If you got a fair price and really like it, well, that's all that counts. Enjoy it.
