    Hello everyone-

I found a Quarter in circulation. I began to look at the sage bush to see if i would see
some abnormalities and there it was an extra Leaf. I was wondering if any one had see
an extra leaf on Their Nevada State Quarters?

Looks to me to be a die chip. But just my opinion.:kewl:

It may look like a chip but when you get a good look at it as I have- you see the
lines and outline of a bud-and details of a leaf. Too bad I dont have a great camera
to photograph it with. i was just asking if anyone seen any anomalies in their quarters?
I will try to get a better scan and show it.
    Thanks

I have a few of these coins (mint bag) with the same abnormality. There seem to be two stages to these from what I can see. The first picture shows the beginning stages on the neck. The second picture is the reverse of this coin showing the "extra leaf" if you will. The third picture is a latter stage neck shot, and the last picture is the leaf filled in. Is this more a variety?

I have seen quite a few of those you have showing near the designers initials. In my opion, they are die cracks. The between the leaf and stem of these two photos also appear to be the progression of a die crack that has filled in to form a small cud. As always this is my opinion only and I am sure there will be others along with there opinions as well. Not to say that it could not be an extra leaf. With many anomalies they would nead to be examined closely to be authenticated.

it is interesting though, if there are enough of them and enough interest it could become a minor sub-variety

    Hello all-

Yes -as per the pics (startingout) I have the same. Cracks, cuds and all. I wonder how many are out there
OR are we the only ones who have seen these. Im going to send mine out to get looked at.
Hey you never know? A minor Sub-variety is still a variety!
