I just ordered a Grand Canyon silver proof, and it is sure a beauty! It looks amazing, and it is silver! If i am correct it is the same amount of silver as a 1964 quarter, correct? I never hear much attention to the silver proofs, anybody else collect them? Thanks for the input! And I mean the coin, not the 5oz round.
Oh yes, there's a number of collectors that buy these up. I myself purchased the 2012 Silver Proof set last month, they are beautiful and they are 90% silver.
I myself dont buy the silver proof ATB quarters. I have bought the proof sets for each year so far. When the Michigan quarter comes out I will buy the 5oz though, seeing as Im from Michigan. Born and raised there.
If you mean the 5oz. ATB's, they are all UNC. The bullion version available from authorized dealers does have some proof-like looks. The "P" version from the US Mint has what is called a "vapor-Blast" finish. oops, just read the last line of your post
Yup, I buy 'em. I typically order one ATB silver quarters proof set and two regular (full issue) silver proof sets.
I just decided to start them since I'm not too far behind. I got the 2010 and 2011 set so far, haven't picked up the 2012 yet. They look awesome. I love them.
