Which do you want in your collection? Why?

Toned, crusty, meaty, pretty, rare, southern gold?

This Southern-born boy would pick the Charlotte-mint gold.

I would have to go with the O, the Charlotte would be nice but the hit on the 9 is to distracting and I also like the near terminal die state of the reverse on the O

Cazkaboom One for all, all for me.

I'll take a CBH please. The overall design is beautiful and I am not much of a fan of colorful toning. That one shows slight golden edge toning which is quite beautiful.

Oh, and might I mention: Die cracks galore!

Half dollar because I do not have one older than 1920 in my collection yet.

The 39-o CBH, only because I'm shopping for one right now and its just plain cool to have a mint marked capped bust.

I would take the gold because I have all of the others (besides that 1839/6 cent - that one is quite tempting too!).

BTW, that is an interesting way to put and illustrate your question. I could do the same thing for the year 1795 (minus the gold.....).

I would take 39 N1 because I do not have one. Not to start the whole what is rare thread again, but it's not a rare coin.

The seated half or the 39 O half. Those are all some beautiful halves!!!!

I'd pick the Seated (love that toning) or the second CBH.

It's an R3+. And strictly speaking that's not "rare". But let's not quibble.

Only one, why not all? :D

But I would probably choose the gold one simply because I don't have any gold coins as of yet.

In order 39-O CBH, 39 N-1 cent, 1839 CBH, 1839 Seated, the other 1839 cent, and last of all the gold piece.

If I had to pick one it would be the 39/6 - that puppy would fit nice in my album.

I would go with the Charlotte gold. First for intrinsic value then for the special mint mark. Without researching rarity and values, I would most likely always go for gold if given the choice out of that group.
