Clean & Fresh! Long overdue refresh! Nice and clean, interface is close enough to old that I didnt have to hunt around. The new look is CLEAN and FRESH. I like it, very welcoming. The old pages were dark and dismal like a GOTH jewelery shop or something. I have not participated in an actual auction for a few weeks so I cant say about that but what I see is very encouraging. The photo enlarge to 260% is useful.
Good company. You enter the site; before you would get a thorough listing of current or upcoming auctions. Click on auction, click on denomination. You were there. Now, you enter the site; they are trying to promote certain areas I am not interested in. They have zoomed in images of PQ coins. Again, I am not interested in those, or I do not like to be sold to like that. Kind of like commercials on TV. I can honestly say I have never bought anything based on an endorsement or a TV commercial, I guess they call it sales resistance. People will get used to the new system, gradual upgrades make a lot more sense to me. Heritage Auctions does more volume than anyone. If you are a logged-in member there, you can access upcoming and past auctions. Their images are state of the art. I'm not sure how many of the other auction companies allow easy access to their archives--this is invaluable for figuring what any given coin is worth. The more steps to get the information you are looking for, the less likely you will go there. We are bombarded by information on the internet, sites are multiplying. Those who want to succeed should be offering greatest ease of access. They have more auctions than the others, potentially they could be as good as Heritage; their connections to Spectrum mean that if you want to sell, there may be more exposure and stronger bidding. One of the heads there told me that Lincoln cents are their biggest auction item; I would have thought Morgan or Peace dollars.
I like it better than the old interface. The pictures on some of the copper still seems off, but other than that I like the new interface better.
Better imaging is great, still wonderful service. A very nice improvement IMO. I've noticed also that since they opened the new site and advertised widely, sell prices have jumped. It used to be that you could get some good coins there for less than retail, but now prices on everything are full-blown retail or more. Many series that I was tracking have gone from below-ebay pricing to above-ebay pricing and in many cases above-local-coin-store pricing. Great if you're wanting to sell.
Hmmm. At first I liked the change but the reality is that the pages load slower and I'm not so inclined to spend time perusing their offerings. This means, I actually spend less time on the new site and get frustrated with what I'm seeing. My "back" button seems to get lost. The close up images only seem to bog the sight down BUT having closeups for the bulk listings does show every coin being sold. Thats a good plus.
I have noticed it a little slower, but not much. Heritage is where I have problems at times. I almost think it is better for me to reboot my desktop before logging into heritage. But I put up with it for the coins.
I never have seen the old, i might have, but faintly remember it. I love the new one over ones like heritage.
I'm getting used to it. Also, when going to Heritage's website trying to find the next internet auction lots, they do not make it easy. You should be able to set specific criteria--and, shazam! Done!
I love it, and have become accustomed to it. Take some time to move around and see how to use the site features. Instead of doing the back button, I simply click on track and bid or whatever.
There always adding new features to the website also.. tonights auction i was comparing bids with there price guide, helps in the decision factor
