Just wanted to see what everyone thought. I think that the Liberty seated half dollars are pretty active right now. What do you think?
i think lincolns and mercury dimes are pretty popular. i tend to go for the seated liberty coinage i love the design and the price is reasonable on most of them
I'd say the Lincoln cent and mercury dime too. But even maybe above the mercs would be the Morgan dollar.
The dealers I work with here in the SF bay area have a hard time keeping problem free Mercury Dimes, Standing Liberty Quarters, and Seated Halves in stock. They're a consistent seller, and this is coming from 5 different sources.
Finally people are waking up and realizing the brilliance of the seated liberty design. Looks like barbers/CBH's are taking a nap right now, while SL's, Lincoln Cents, and anything proof. Monster toning is dead, rainbow toning has started taking a backseat, and Ike dollars are still waiting for a pulse. I heard that Walking Halves are beginning to stir, as well as jefferson nickels. Just a feeling from what I see happening on ebay.
Ancients are pretty hot, especially higher grade Greek and Magna Grecia. Ancients have been going up considerably for a few years now.
If you want "cold" instead, I just saw a second 1999 silver proof set go for $70 on eBay. That's barely $26 over spot.
