I´m loving this error !

    Let me introduce you to my latest error coin,

    Apologies for the scanner picture, my camera is on a holiday at the moment. The coin is BU and absolutely beautiful to hold.

    What we have here is a pretty interesting small planchet error. This is a partial 20 pence UK planchet witch is an odd thing to see.

    Now I own a complete sample of this error on 100 kronur and for the life of me I did not think I would see one on another denomination as these things are not that common.

    Now thoughts on how this coin is half 20 pence and half round planchet is welcome to share their opinion.

    My thoughts are this is due to the planchet being pushed to the collar when it was struck but that opens some questions as well witch I can’t answer.

    Yes. If you look closely at the inner portion of the circular rim you can see the planchet actually had three octagonal (?) portions there , and the circular portion is the outside of it, where it would presumably be pushed to the collar edge.
