I am a newbie to the whole coin collecting game. I was given a bunch of old coins that have been passed down from family members. These are silver half dollar, quarters, dimes, etc. Looking at the Red Book and also the PCGS web site, it seems some of the 1943 Washington Quarters I have may be "double die," however, I am unsure how to tell if they are or not? Does anybody know of good resources to look at to help determine? I did some Google searching but haven't really found anything useful. Thanks.
A couple references if you think you will be into them enough to make it worthwhile buying would be The Cherrypickers Guide, vol.2. Or this: The Best of the Washington Quarter Doubled Die Varieties by John A. Wexler and Kevin Flynn.
