Let's say you're hunting through rolls of pennies and you found a red MS-64 1972 DDO 1? Would you hide it away and keep your mouth shut or would you check the news to see if there have been any robberies involving coins, or even calling the police to inquire if there have been any reports of coins being stolen? No, I have not found one of these, I was just wondering what I would do if I did. I'd probably do the checking around and asking the police, although I would not reveal the type of coin I found unless/until I knew there was one stolen from someone.
I would put it back in the dump pile because my kids only pull out wheats and anything "cool." They aren't looking for DDOs haha. To answer your question however, I guess if I found something that I realized is worth a ton of money I would probably keep my eyes and ears open but wouldn't bring it to anyones attention until I heard or saw something. To be honest though, I probably wouldn't have a clue that what I found was that crazy
I would toss it in my copper pile and wait for the law to change so I can melt it for .02! I guess what you don't know CAN hurt you! Whats it worth?
