Ok gang, here are a few photos that I took today. There are quite a few more but this is as far as I got LOL.

I hope you like them! The first group are Austrian 2 Hellers. I have a "nearly" complete set. I'm only missing the 1st of the series "1892"

This second group are Hungarian 2 Fillers. I'm just starting to collect these now. There is actually an interesting story about crown on these coins. It is the Crown of St Stephen, he was crowned king of Hungary in the year 1000. The ACTUAL crown was sent to the US early in WW II for safe keeping. It was housed in Fort Knox, yes where the gold is. VERY few people knew what that old wooden box in one of our vaults contained the actual crown of St Steven. It has long since been safely returned to them. I'm also starting to collect Denaris as well. It's just amazing to me to be able to hold something that old in MY hand

    Last Group for now

The first coin is a German Commem proof, I just LOVE the eagle. The second is a 1911 1 Double from Guernsey, I'm just a sucker for nice toning LOL.

Well thats it for now, thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy the photos!
    Thanks Again!

Very nice coins Mark. Are you buying these from any one particular dealer who specializes in them or from different ones? Did you get any from eBay? Looking forward to seeing more.

Most of the Austrian and Hungarian coins are from a dealer I met who lives in Austria. I picked up maybe 4 or 5 coins from Ebay. He usually can find whatever coin I'm looking for from that area of Europe.

Those good relationships you make with dealers are so important in this hobby. It gives you an advantage in your search for nice coins and good prices. I'm in the process of doing that with my Irish political tokens. I've met some very nice people but haven't found anyone who can help me much with acquiring pieces and learning the history behind each one. Every token I've picked up so far has come from an Irish or UK collector...not a single one from the U.S.

That is SO true Bruce, if your trying to collect "world" coins it's almost a necessity. I'm a perfect example of that. If it wasn't for Iceman57 and Siggi I wouldn't have a complete set of Icelandic coins OR it would have cost me a small fortune to complete it thats ONLY if I could have found them in the first place! I can't thank those 2 members enough. The nice part is we are now close friends as well, that is PRICELESS in my book, that to me is worth more than any coins. I'm working on a good relationship right now with the dealer in Austria, his name is Andrey and his site is: http://www.avscoins.com/. He too is a really good person, anyone looking for coins from that part of the world you can't go wrong with him. I wish I could help you out with your Irish collection, I don't have a solid contact there. If I find one I'll be sure to let you know. As you know I also collect Irish coins.

    Thanks Bruce!

LOL, yes you do, are you a Filler collector too? I may actually be getting a complete set from my dealer friend in Austria. BUT if I see a nice one one Ebay, you know I'll be bidding on it LOL!

Yeah but I just started. Right now I'm on the 2 Filler series, the year 1900 is a pain to find.

I'm just starting out on the Filler series as well. At this point I only have 1895, 96, 97, 99 and 1908.If I get time I'll post those photos for you. Thanks for the heads up on the 1900. I"ll keep my eyes open for both of us!

    Thanks for the comments!

I was lucky enough to find the 1892 at a thrift store. Thats a key date too.
