Any Frenchmen On Line ?

I have this 1867 Quebec (looks like Copper) coin. I do not see a denomination on the coin, except when you blow up the photo, it appears there is some French writing under the shield. Is this a real legal coin or some type of medal ?

"Je me souviens" - "I remember" in English.

"I remember" kinda sounds like medallion.

 

It is also on the Quebec license plates, a joke in Ontario is that "They should remember how to drive"

The white garden lilly is the provincial flower of Quebec if that is any help and the other side looks like the provincial coat of arms
Arms were first granted to the province in 1868 by Queen Victoria. They were blazoned as follows:
Two fleurs-de-lis, lion passant guardant and Three maple leaves
Motto Je me souviens

Three Fleurs-de-lis was adopted in 1939 with a tudor crown

 

I believe what you have is promotional item given away by Shell Gas stations. There was two set one with the provincial shields and one set with Prime Minister's of Canada.

This medal was just written up in a recent CCN.
It has very little, if any, value according to them.
