Jefferson error????

    A friend, who is not a collector found this nickle and gave it me because it looked strange. I think there is a remote possibility it could be an error due to the fact that, although it may look worn the rim and other high points seem to be untouched??? I could be wrong but no harm in asking. The coin looks to be from 1985 also supporting the non wear theory, any help is appreciated. Thank you.

    lol thanks just thought it could have been struck through grease?

    That nickel looks like it was struck with dies in need of hospice care.

    It's a "dryer coin". The coin tumbled around in the fins of an industrial dryer for a prolonged stretch.
