I just came from the store and was checking my change and found this 1986 quarter. Can someone tell me what happened here? It looks like the I was fused with the N. To me it doesn't seem like PMD. Grease filled die maybe? Thanks. (It caught my eye because it looked like w god we trust when I pulled it out of my pocket. lol)
It could be any number of things all of which would not add any value to the coin. Pos it on the CONECA Mint Error Forums ( http://board.conecaonline.org/forumdisplay.php?f=4 ) for some other opinions.
I was looking at it again. I think ikandiggit is correct. The angle of the I is the same as the edge of the coin. Oh well, I can still spend it. lol
One day I'll get around to doing a thread of these. I have dozens and I'm sure every cent collector has as many or more (that is if they kept them).
