I'm waiting on a 4 skilling I ordered from Denmark, and I was wondering if anyone with a 19th century Krause book handy can help me find out some more about this coin. I ordered it largely because I liked the look of it (usually I do a bit more research before agreeing to a price). But, isn't this a pretty piece? http://www.napoleonicmedals.org/coins/den07-1.htm I'm wondering a few things: 1) Is there a mint mark to check for? 2) What was the # minted? 3) What is the metal content / weight? Thanks for any help! I'd love to learn more about Danish coins from this time period.
Thank you! Any idea what the mintage was, or was this one of those dates where only a fortune teller would claim to know an exact number?
No mintage listed unfortunately. It appears most coins from Denmark in the 1800s didn't have mintage listed. The few various coins before 1854 that have mintages listed are under 130k.
