I mentioned before I'm developing a good working relationship with my local coin dealer.
Driving him a lot of business via Craigslist and the Google Maps location I put up for him.
He has a ton of graded coins, many $1000+ book value.
He doesn't want to sell on eBay though as the fees are very high and often profit margins aren't worth it after fees.
Anyone who has sold on here, how is the process?
I take it you use paypal (duh) and send the payment as a 'good' to give yourself 'some' buyer protection.
I just want some feedback before I suggest it to him.

Paypal is good for security, but most sellers prefer money order or checks to avoid fees.

If you trust the person selling, you can send the money as a gift and then there are no fees.

It is entirely up to the 2 parties involved to decide what form of payment is acceptable.

Alot of it has to do with trust and as such I only buy/sell/trade with seasoned and regular users on here. That means I wont deal with "newbies" who have recently joined and have not yet proven themselves as reputable or reliable. With that said I often deal with sending/receiving cash or money orders. I've done alot of trades through this forum and I've never had a problem but that is possibly due to me being so selective in choosing who I'll do a deal with.

I believe PP eliminated the "gift" option due to fee avoidance abuse.
    But what do I know?

The gift option is still there. Although now there is a 1% fee attached to using it.
