After 3 skunk boxes in a row of halves, it was nice to find 9 40%'ers today, and this beauty:



Also found a penny, nickel, and a quarter. Not gonna complain at all!!!

what is that?

 

Someone hollowed a half out and probably made a matching piece from another half to insert in it. It is a creative way to make a coin with two heads....

Found a 1939 and a 1944 wheat in a canadian penny roll. This 39 was really messed up but the 44 was in great condition so I will keep it. =)

 

2 more boxes of halves, 2 more skunks.

excluding some penny rolls I'm out of coin to search now until I can dump and scrounge around on Wednesday. Thinking about heading east to Jackson MI which is getting close to Detroit. Might be smarter to call in an order from a bank out that way first though so I can pick it up and see how their boxes are.

The boxes I'm getting locally are only yeilding like 2-3 coins a month at 2 box per week rate. I think this area has been hunted dry except for my lucky cwr finds I've been able to come up with. It's really a shame b/c it takes a serious road trip to get out of this coin services delivery area.

 

Went to Credit Union and bank and got 100 in dimes rolls, 10 in cents, 20 in halves, and also got a number of loose SBA's and 4 Eisenhower dollars.

The Ikes were 1975-1976D. Three were type 1 and one was type 2. They look pretty good to me.

 

Finished the last few rolls of a skunk box today. Easily the ugliest box of coins I've ever gotten, just full of dirty coins and many were coated with an orangish brown paint or something. Even the 2005 and 2007 NIFC's I found were all beat up!
Talked 2 new banks into ordering halves for me, so I should have a total of 4 boxes coming next week. I need a score like VACookey and Merc Crazy!

 

Just leave my beloved BofA alone here in Jackson, please...

I finally got them to order a box a halves a week, after quite a bit of persuading. If you do make it over here, stop in and say hi...

Picked up a box of halves and a box of dimes yesterday.

Hit the silver superfecta on the halves box:

WL: 1943
BF: 1952d, 1963d
90%: 1964
40%: 1967, 1969d

Another skunk box of dimes...that's 3 in a row.

Box of nicks, 2 wars. Weird box in terms of foriegn change... 1 canadian nickel, 1 ireland euro 5c, 1 20 pence, 1 1fr from Belgium.

 

WAR NICKELS! they're my all time favorite coin to collect. I'm up to 24 of em now

 

I'm up to 208 from rolls.

I didn't search yesterday, but my wife went to a small town an hour away for our daughter's activity.......skunk. I've had really poor luck lately.

I just had a pretty cool find. I found a 1964D silver dime and what makes it so cool is that it was found in a roll of pennies. It was dirty and pretty dark but it has cleaned up fairly nice so far. The roll had 52 coins in it so I guess you could say this dime didn't even cost me a penny, lol. Anyone else found a silver coin in a roll of pennies before?

I found two in a bag of cents before, both silver dimes that were a bit bent.

Last box of nickels, 1 war, 1 dateless buff.

 

Not yet, but the last box of halves had a penny, a nickel, and a quarter in it...

And 9 40% halves!!!
