Just got my 2006 Proof Set today. At first I thought that the packaging had a scratch on it. But then I realized it was the cent itself. I don't have a microscope, but under a magnifying glass, it looks like some small bumps in the flat proof field to the left of Lincoln's shoulder. Any idea what could cause that?
Apparently these bubbles and folds in the layers of modern proof cents aren't uncommon.I found this in my 2003 silver proof set. It's a bit hard to see but there's a little fold that sticks up above the surface just above the U in United in the photo.Interesting but not worth anything extra.
