For a long time, there were slot machines that accepted half dollars. I believe I've seen vending machines that have accepted them, although I have no idea how long ago that would have been.

The main obstacle to vending machines accepting halves is the size of the slot.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

In all of your trying, you haven't convinced anyone here at CT to jump on your bandwagon.

I don't know who said it first, but, the definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and
over hoping for a different result.

Now I must ask, how many threads have you started on this subject?

You have the same chance of accomplishing your goals as Pat Paulson had of being elected president.

I've dropped a half into a few vending machines and self-checkouts, they usually fit -- but they always go straight to the return tray. The only slot that I remember was too small was on a parking meter. Lots of vending machines in my experience take dollar coins.

I remember paying a fare partly with pennies on the old MUNI gates in San Francisco. Unfortunately they were replaced last year.

Well, that explains your sometimes bizarre behavior on this forum.
Manic depression (bipolar disorder) is easily controlled with medication these days, in case you didn't know.
I suggest you see a competent mental health professional.
If money is an issue, I'm sure there are mental health clinics in your area.
That being said, your mental illness has absolutely nothing to do with the original poster's endless and numerous threads about half dollars and $2 bills.

there's a Pepsi machine in the basement of a church near my school that takes halves. i think its from the 1960's or early 1970's. it says "insert 50 cents in any combonination of Nickels, dimes, quarters, or half dollars". i have also seen jukeboxes that accept them
